1962 – The distillery is founded by Marty Dyke, George Crawford and Brodie Hepburn (who is also involved in Tullibardine and Deanston). Macduff Distillers Ltd is the name of the company.
1963 – Production starts.
1965 – The number of stills is increased from two to three.
1967 – Stills now total four.
1972 – William Lawson Distillers buys the distillery from Glendeveron Distilleries.
1980 – William Lawson is bought by Martini Rossi through the subsidiary General Beverage Corporation.
1990 – A fifth still is installed.
1992 – Bacardi buys Martini Rossi (including William Lawson) and transfers Macduff to the subsidiary John Dewar & Sons.
